President's Message

Happy October! As autumn takes hold, MATCP continues its steady momentum, working behind the scenes to support treatment court professionals across Michigan.

Board Reflection & Strategic Planning At the beginning of this month, our Board of Directors is gathering for our annual retreat. This time set aside for reflection and strategic planning allows us to review our recent accomplishments, align on our core mission, and map out our vision for the months ahead to ensure we are serving our members effectively.

new priorities emerge.

Looking Ahead: 2027 Annual Conference With our retreat guiding our steps, we will soon gear up preparations for the 2027 MATCP Annual Conference! Mark your calendars for May 5–6, 2027, as we return to the Lansing Center. We look forward to bringing together treatment court teams from across the state for top-tier education, inspiration, and networking.

Legislative & Advocacy Update Advocacy and legislative activities are currently quiet on the Capitol front. State lawmakers have turned their full attention to the upcoming mid-term election, where Michigan voters will elect a new Governor, Attorney General, and Secretary of State. We remain attentive to potential shifts and will keep you updated as legislative sessions resume and

new priorities emerge.

Upcoming Fall Training

  • Coordinators, Case Managers & MCJE Conference (October 29–30): Targeted, role-specific sessions designed to refine operations and improve participant outcomes.

  • Regional Training (November 9): Localized education provided to three northern Michigan treatment court teams focusing on standards and best practices.

As always, we are deeply grateful for the passion and perseverance you bring to your communities every single day. The impact of treatment courts is made possible through your unwavering commitment, and I look forward to seeing many of you in person at our upcoming training sessions as we advance this essential work!
