Our Commitment

MATCP is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for everyone participating in MATCP events.

This Code of Conduct applies to all MATCP‑sponsored activities, including but not limited to:

  • Annual Conferences

  • Trainings 

  • Legislative events

  • Event‑related social activities, whether on‑site or off‑site

  • Online spaces, including virtual events and social media connected to MATCP events

 

By attending or participating in an MATCP event, you agree to uphold this Code of Conduct and help create a welcoming experience for all.

 

Expected Behavior

We expect all participants—attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, staff, and volunteers—to:

  • Treat others with respect and professionalism

  • Engage in discussions and activities in a civil and constructive manner

  • Be mindful of how words and actions impact others

  • Follow event rules, venue policies, and staff instructions

MATCP events are professional spaces designed for learning, collaboration, and networking.

 

Unacceptable Behavior

MATCP does not tolerate harassment or discrimination in any form, whether in person or online.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Offensive or derogatory comments or gestures related to race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, physical appearance, religion, national origin, or political affiliation

  • Verbal threats, intimidation, stalking, or coercion

  • Unwelcome physical contact or sexual attention

  • Sexualized images or language in public or professional spaces

  • Disrupting sessions, meetings, or other event activities

  • Harassing or inappropriate photography, audio, or video recording

  • Slights, microaggressions, or negative messages—whether intentional or unintentional—based solely on appearance or identity

Participants may not record any portion of MATCP trainings or events for personal or external use unless explicitly authorized.

Compliance and Enforcement

Anyone asked to stop inappropriate behavior is expected to comply immediately.

MATCP reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to violations of this Code of Conduct, including:

  • Removal from the event without refund

  • Banning from future MATCP events

  • Other actions deemed necessary at MATCP’s discretion

Event staff and organizers are empowered to enforce this policy to ensure participant safety and comfort.

 

Questions or Concerns

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please notify an MATCP staff member as soon as possible. MATCP takes concerns seriously and will respond promptly and appropriately.

MATCP MEDIA NOTICE & CONSENT

MATCP events may be photographed, recorded, or live‑streamed.

By registering for or attending an MATCP event, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Your image, voice, and likeness may be captured in photos, audio, or video

  • MATCP may use these materials for promotional, educational, or informational purposes, including websites, social media, publications, and other communications

  • These materials may be used without additional notice, compensation, or time limitation
